Hand-Knit Pouch

I am back from playing New Horizons to bring you a fun quick project to get back in the swing of things! This cute little pouch is essentially an upside down hat with straps and after I figured out the look I wanted it was a breeze to make!

Materials: Yarn, Button, Size 8 straight and circular knitting needles

the materials

I decided to use garter stitch since it is a stable stitch that does not curl and then make the dark green accent be in stockinette to add some texture.

  • Lastly pull yarn through to finish!
front. I carried the dark green yarn in the back so I didn’t have to deal with a bunch of loose yarn everywhere

For the strap I picked up 4 stitches from the side, knit 95 rows on straight needles, and then bind off while also picking up 4 stitches on the other side so I didn’t have to sew the two together.

The button loop was the same idea. Pick up 2 stitches from the back middle, knit 24 rows, then bind off while picking up 2 stitches.

The only thing left is to weave in the yarn ends and add the button!

Complete!

I had a lot of fun with this project!! It has gotten my creative juices flowing and I’m excited to get back to making more things!
